I color grade since 2013

 

my long previous experience as a director, namely for Procter & Gamble commercials, inoculated me the sense of purpose, intention, aim, goal… you name it!

 

my approach to color grading:

  • respect and sublime the dop’s work
  • every frame is a photo ; light is its origin and its destination
  • simplicity beats complexity and broad beats narrow
  • most of the process is done with simple photographic tools adjusting the exposure, contrast and color balance
  • find the right direction before nailing the intensity
  • question assumptions, test the limits and embrace the process
